A few months ago, I learned about an amazing album from Beirut’s Serge Volant which quickly became one of my albums of the year. Since that release, Volant has been busy polishing up more music. Starting back in 2025, Surfboard Surfboard is a brand new project out of Beirut Lebanon, which consists of Volant and Michel Maouad. The sound they’ve created is reminiscent of Black Marble and Castlebeat (and the label Spirit Goth). It’s a beautiful and catchy synthpop track about not having to go far to find the simple joys and fun in life. The first single from their upcoming EP, Flowers and Sun has been on repeat all morning long and is a previews of whats to come for the band. Other tracks have been teased on their Instagram page and it all sounds so amazing.
