[Beyond] Analog Dream – Velvet Knives

Circling back to my post yesterday about Indigo Elephant, San Francisco’s Analog Dream were another band who played with them and Twin Bloom last week at Brick and Mortar. The SF 5-piece are a heavy hitting indie-shoegaze band that started back in 2012, founded by Jorge Sandoval and Rich Cannon. The duo recorded and released their earlier work from a one bedroom apartment, with their first single coming in 2015 called “Lion’s Share” (which can be found here). That single led to an EP later that Fall titled “Speaking in Code” which was more electronic sounding but laid the foundation for what is to come.

2018 saw the release of another EP in “No Boundaries” where the production started to incorporate recorded drums tracks but this marked the progression of the band growing and developing. Several singles have since been released and yesterday, the third single from the band’s upcoming EP dropped in Velvet Knives. The new EP is titled “The Shape Of Us” and will be released August 20th. Analog Dream are an exciting band coming from the Bay Area and it’s been amazing getting to explore their bedroom start to their current sound.
