Nation of Language are coming to Reno this weekend and I am so excited for this show. This band went under my radar which I’ll attribute to being sucked into the darker side of synth heavy music like Cold Cave and Drab Majesty. So when discovering the band a few months ago, their sound easily clicked. Even though their music and compositions are on the brighter side of the genre, they craft excellent and beautiful songs and albums that I could listen to all day long. The 7” single, “Tougher Than The Rest” was released this year as a follow up to 2025’s excellent “Dance Called Memory”. The Conversation is the B-side to the Bruce Springsteen cover and is a bit different from what has come before. It’s ambient yet full layered synth work and blissful vocals. I had it on repeat driving home on it’s release a few day ago.
Nation of Language are set to play The Alpine this Saturday, July 12th, presented by The Holland Project. Find tickets here
