Last week, Oakland’s Twin Bloom played a show with two other bands from the Bay Area in Indigo Elephant and Analog Dream. From the clips posted on Instagram that night, I was wishing I could have been there. All three bands sounded amazing and I decided to dive a little deeper into the latter two over the weekend. Analog Dream will be releasing a new single soon so I decided to post Indigo Elephant today. So far, the band have a couple albums to their name; their debut being “Instructions Unclear” released in 2019 and their most recent, “The Art of Erosion“, released October 2025. In between the two LPs, the band put out several singles and EPs and quite frankly, it’s tough to recommend which record to listen to first as they’re all amazing.
I do enjoy going through a band’s discography from the beginning to most recent. I always find it interesting seeing how a band grows and develops over the years. Indigo Elephant are no exception. It’s amazing to see how they’ve morphed their sound from 2019 to now. They have fully embraced alt-indie pop and it’s fantastic. The band state they make music for the in-between moments and their songs are definitely something I need to unwind and reset.
