A few nights ago, Reno’s Borrowed Time (previously known as Socalkyle) performed at The Holland Project but unfortunately, due to a conflict I was not able to go. After seeing some clips the following morning, I will make every effort to see them when they play next. I was given a demo of their track Bumble Bee to listen to and it is absolutely amazing. The vocals are gorgeous, albeit with heartbreaking lyrics about loss and the difficulties of losing someone close (I teared up halfway through…memories). The composition of the track is exceptional, with punchy basslines paired with soft guitars creating this wonderful sound of mellowed out indie-pop. The quality of the demo is simply outstanding and from the snippets of their live show Tuesday night, this is an exciting new band to keep an eye out for.
