Jazeera 10 (pronounced Jazeera Aashra) are a Syrian via Berlin five-piece who have been active in the independent scene since 2024. The name was chosen from the Damascus neighborhood member Louay Kanawati grew up in. The band currently have three EPs to their name, with the most recent being “Leil El Mataleeb”. Jazeera 10 are hard to pin down in regard to their sound. Like many musicians from our local Reno scene, they compose and create tracks with a blend of genres and inspirations, making the music they’re feeling at the time. However, the content of the recordings do follow certain themes. “Leil El Mataleeb” does translate to “Night of the Wanted/Fugitives” which reflects the reality of having to leave Syria but also dealing with trying to create a new home in a foreign land.
