Last week, I finally had the opportunity to check out The Zines and was not disappointed. Not only did the band play an excellent set, the seamless transitions between genres caught my attention the most. The band went between indie rock, punk and shoegaze without batting an eye. I talked to lead singer Ava a bit after the show and she described The Zines music and performances as each band member bringing their favorite genres to the table, composing the tracks and playing their hearts out. I absolutely love this and showcases the huge talent The Zines are. More music is coming soon and I can’t wait to listen.

Back in February, when Spirits Rebellious was about a month old, LA’s Road Trip reached out for help booking a show. I didn’t have the contacts then that I do now but these guys really wanted to play Reno and thankfully they got booked. Hearing them live is a different experience than listening to their recordings. Their LP and EP are amazing but seeing them live adds a whole new dimension and completes the picture of what this band is about. What’s cool is that this band wanted to play Reno. On stage they were so happy to be here and put on one helluva set. Hopefully they come back soon, Reno is wanting more
