Toronto’s Wine Lips are back, not only with a new single, but yesterday saw the announcement of a new LP as well. The new track Projector is a bruising and brutal piece of garage punk which see’s drummer Aurora on lead vocals for the first time over frantic basslines and guitar riffs. The new LP, the band’s third to date, is titled “TV Dinner” and is set to drop August 28th from Stomp Records. According to lead guitarist and vocalist Cam Hilborn who was on main writing duties for the album, the tracks were written with a more “candid” approach and didn’t look back after the composition was written. There will be mistakes or things that would have been re-recorded or fixed during mixing but the band left them in. From someone who loves lo-fi and gritty garage rock, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
