I finally got to see one of my favorite local bands play again in It’s Not Cute Anymore. I saw them several months ago at Holland Project and have been a huge fan of their music since. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know several of the band members since that first show and they are some of the nicest and sweetest people I know. They’re busy prepping an EP and I can’t wait for it to drop.
Sometimes when I attend a show I’ll purposely not do my homework of previewing bands on a bill that I haven’t heard of before. I feel going in blindly is a perfect way to experience new artists and music. I absolutely enjoyed these two talented musicians from Portland, Oregon. They both played blissful indie pop that got you hooked within the first few notes. They’re currently touring together (a dream for both lead singers to do since they were teens) and I highly recommend checking them out as they make their way through Cali.
First time checking out Serendipity and was not disappointed. For a band so young, I was impressed by their set and how well they did. I had seen some footage prior to this show from other accounts but seeing clips doesn’t do the band justice at all. The cool thing is that this band is only going to get better and grow into the sound their going for.
