Rotten Heights have been around the local Reno scene for a few years now (formerly known as Death Jockey) and their brand of noisy alternative shoegaze is unlike anything going on in town. Jakob Rodriguez’s singing style reminds me of Lou Reed at times, however, Rodriguez really makes you feel the lyrics as the tracks get more chaotic along with his vocal delivery. (River Phoenix I Love You) Since I Was 7 is the band’s most recent single but Rotten Heights also released an EP titled Purged In Gutters back in January.
The band are set to play The Holland Project today in support of Sexfaces and locals Spitting Image. Tickets can be found here
