Next Question is a band that weave many different musical styles and influences into their songs and like other bands from Reno, it isn’t easy designating a specific genre to them. The more I’m exploring the Reno sound, I’m starting to think that their is no specific “sound”. Reno bands do what they want and they do it incredibly well. Next Question is no exception. I could write a long list of genres and sub-genres they sound like but I think that takes away and distracts from what the band is doing.
The track I’m featuring, to me, is post-punk but going through their album Just Winter, each song is different and distinct from the other. This variation and surprise of what’s next makes the listening experience that much more enjoyable.
The band are due to play this Sunday, March 8th, at The Holland project along with fellow local band Silly Little in support of Denver’s American Culture. Find tickets here
