This past Friday, I was able to see a show at the newly opened house space called The Greenhouse. The Greenhouse is an amazing venue, and an important one to have for a thriving local music scene. A few weeks ago, I had posted a track from Evening Spirits, learning I had recently missed a show of theirs. Thankfully, the next day I saw an announcement from the venue’s Instagram that Evening Spirits would be playing with AFTRPRTY and one of my favorite local groups, Honey Plant.
The show did not disappoint. All three bands were fantastic and full of energy. It was amazing to see and hear how different AFTRPRTY sound live. Talking with their drummer, the duo record everything electronically but when they play live, their bassist and drummer are allowed to interpret and perform the recorded material however they see fit. Evening Spirits brought a ton of energy as they played through their discography flawlessly. Honey Plant were just incredible and gave a welcome accouchement of an album dropping end of March.
