The Belfry and the Ritual put on a darkwave goth show over the weekend at The Holland Project and it was excellent. I have a love for dark music, think Drab Majesty, Cold Showers, and Cold Cave. But these three acts from Los Angeles were a bit different. The dark and heavy baselines were there, the guitar sounds I’ve come to associate with this genre were there however the music was danceable and fun? to listen to. This was a goth party through and through. People showed up in full makeup and long lacey gowns and it was amazing. I loved every second of it and hopefully another goth night can happen soon.
