Prevail is the lead track off the debut EP from the London’s Mouth Ulcers. The EP titled “Silent Pictures” is an amazing work of goth post-punk and the band have crafted something special. Mouth Ulcers formed in 2025, fronted by lead vocalist/guitarist Zak Watson, he is joined by Josephine Rose on guitar/vocals, bassist Jamie-Lee Culver and David Zbirka on drums. The band seek to bridge their influences from Joy Division to The Cure and they have definitely accomplished this, while at the same time creating a sound that is their own. The band are generating tons of buzz in the UK as well as here at home and it is all well deserved. I have found my new favorite post-punk band in Mouth Ulcers.
