[Reno] Honey Plant – Discos Dead Now Breath

Honey Plant are Matthew Nist and Robin Lowe and this duo out of Reno have grabbed my attention with their new single Discos Dead Now Breathe. I love their sound: the grooves, the basslines, the vocals…all of it. The band have released a series of singles on their Bandcamp and their style ranges from funk, to disco, to soul to lo-fi R&B. I hope an album is in the works soon. According to an interview found here the group first formed in Southern California but have now made Reno their home. They have added more musicians to help flesh out their sound and add more depth to their excellent brand of funk and R&B.

Their next show is at Reno’s Greenhouse February 27th in support of AFTRPRTY with Evening Spirits opening (I guess I didn’t need to wait too long to hopefully catch them live)
