I was able to check out The Walls Are Lava on Saturday and I absolutely loved this exhibition. The premise of the show was that the artists were able to create art or sculpture but the walls were off limits. What you have are installations that the artist’s use this restriction to their creative advantage. Pieces that stretch along the floor (I Started Walking and Didn’t Want To Stop by Nicole Donnelly), paintings that cover large sections of the ceiling, or sculptures that projects its shadow onto the wall (Bone Stack by Elaine Parks). The show features both local and international artists.

The show is currently open and runs through January 30th with closing reception on the same date between 5-8pm.
