I’m kind of annoyed that during my garage rock/punk obsession during the early 2010’s I never learned about Slovenly Records. The Reno label has been around since 2002 putting out punk and garage rock hits year after year. With worldwide distribution and an incredible international roster, the label is one of the best around. The things I learn while making Reno the focus of this operation.
Now that I’ve put away my embarrassment and shame and started following along, it was cool to see their next album release coming from an Italian-Turkish four-piece name GENTILESKY. The band do remind of Frankie and the Witch Fingers in a way, by no means at all an exact carbon copy but the first few notes of Chasing The Light brought TV Baby to find. However, once that comparison comes and goes, you realize GENTILESKY are paving their own path as the tracks rumbles along and doesn’t give you time to take a breath.
Chasing The Light is the second single off their second LP titled Dream and can be found here. The album is set to drop April 3rd.
