I’m a relatively new listener to Castlebeat, I would say around 2020 is when I started going through Josh Hwang’s discography. I’ve always had a soft spot to catchy hazy dream pop tunes, with Hwang’s 2016 self titled release one I still play to this day. So, when This Takes Time released I was instantly hooked, however, it did have the sound and feel of his s/t release. I can’t confirm this but according to a YouTube comment this track was recorded around that 2016-2018 window but was never released. If this single means there is a whole library of 2016 era Castlebeat waiting to be unleashed I’m all for it. The cover for the single does show a roman numeral II on the bottom right corner so…maybe maybe maybe!
