The McKinley Art Center is currently hosting two exhibitions. The annual Year of the…by Lasting Dose Tattoo and MASHUP! Print Exchange by Laika Press. Both showings are live now through February 12th.
2026 being the year of the Horse, Lasting Tattoo has asked each of the artists to contribute a piece that is influenced by the animal. The art styles range from many different mediums such as painting and illustration. Artists for this year’s exhibition include: Mike Curatello, Joe C. Rock, Paolo Acuna, Chris Arredondo, Abigail Cacurak, Muriel Campbell, Brandon Collins, Megan Ellis, Daniel Herlihy, Anthony Ortega, Seth McCorkle, Tony Medellin, Metal Jeff Rogers, Darin Stockwell, Danny Superrad Hanson, Angie Terrell and Melissa Varney.
The East gallery will host Laika Press’ MASHUP! The 20 artists involved in the exhibition were asked to combine two different printmaking techniques of their choice, challenging each artist to pick from any sort of process or influence they want. Per the Laika Press website the artists include: Alison Maddux, Alanna Austin, Andi Newberry, Angela Batchelor, Anne Hoff, Candace Garlock, Cerese Vaden, Chandler Brutscher, Chloe McClellan, Daniel Pineda Luna, Kimiko Miyoshi, Matthew S Hopson-Walker, May Hariri Aboutaam, Melanie Yazzie, Mike Sonnichsen, Nancy Good, Sarah Whorf, Sterling Jones, and Teal Francis.
